Got mine today. Runs great, even better than GTR and believe me I have some sorry specs.....see profile for specs.

I just received mine today.

Three disks?? They didn't say anthing in the specs about needing a separate drive just to run this thing. :b:

I was surprised at that too but quickly got over it. I have uninstalled GTR. There is no comparison.

It arrived. All I can say is WOW!!!

Oh, and a couple more tweaks. In the PLR file, you can turn off, by setting to zero, steering wheel in cockpit, arms, and driver movement. Good for several more FPS if needed. I have to say however, that running 30 cars from the back of the grid, all these tweaks have made a big difference. That's with almost everything maxed out.

That would be really nice. I can't remember the last time I raced online. I'm hoping to install my new EVGA 7900 GTX 512MB PCI-e card this weekend and crank everything up and put the resolution at 1680 X 1050 on my 22" Wide Screen monitor.

ps - the European version of GTR2 comes on one DVD, but it also costs $50 as opposed to the $15 I paid at BestBuy. You only need Disc 1 to play it.

I spent a ton of time building a Nissan Skyline and a few other cars for that game. Be nice if I could still use them.

There's a slight possibility they could be converted but I'm almost positive they won't go directly in the sim without some reworkinig.

Try over at RSC to ask the question in the GTR2 forum. They have alot of resources for that sort of thing over there.

Well, I got my new EVGA 7900 GTX PCI-e card. I ran 3D Mark with my old card and my benchmark was 10436. I then perfromed most of the tweaks mentioned by Bruce and over at RSC and it dropped down to 10297. I put everything back the way it was, and then installed the new card. After getting it all setup I ran 3D Mark and got a whopping 20646! I can now run GTR2 with everything maxed out at 1680 X 1050 and have no FPS problems. It's kind of silly that in order to run a $14.99 program I had to spend $370 for a new video card. Oh well, thank goodness for my quarterly gain sharing bonuses at work.

Congrats bud.

I'm a bit confused about the performance adjustments actually decreasing the score. At any rate, the adjustments have made a difference on the positive side for me. Just the smoothness alone would be worth it. However I guess you won't be needing those tweaks anymore.

i bought it a while back but had issues with my other rig
a7a266 MB
512 MEM
2400 XP CHIP

just got done 1 week ago(been tweaking it) building a
M2N-SLI Deluxe MB
Anthon 64x2 4600
1 gig mem
Evga 7600 GT 256

and now GTR2 runs GREAT . old rig had nascar at 30-50 fps with alot off now with 99% on (bottom right check box not on) 100-145 fps ravenshield athena sword 60 fps..

so if you gents run a few races hollar out i'll be there if not busy
